James Lafayette: Invisible Spy

Kate Egner Gruber, Curator for the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation in Williamsburg, Virginia, will share about the lasting friendship of James Lafayette and the Marquis de Lafayette.  Learn about the exciting story of James Lafayette, the Virginia slave who left his master to serve the Marquis de Lafayette on the eve of the Siege of Yorktown. The Marquis de Lafayette’ carriage, owned by the Studebaker National Museum, is now on display at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.  Learn about these two incredible stories at our September Public Program.
