Studebaker Styling Studio

What makes a President? The hood ornament! How Branding, Graphics, and Sculpture contribute to Automotive Design.

The designers and sculptors at Studebaker used decoration and ornamentation to differentiate the President line from the rest of the product portfolio. Great attention was given to these details to create a feeling of status and prestige.  Compare the hood ornament design of the Dictator to the President. What sculptural ornamentation or styling elements are unique? How do other graphic and branding details identify the President as the premier line? Drawing inspiration from the ornaments, design your own hood ornament for a Studebaker President.

The Styling Studio can be found in the 2nd floor gallery of the Studebaker National Museum. The Studio is included with Concours admission. To ensure yourself a seat, please arrive early to the session. Supplies provided.

Sessions will be held at 10:30 and 1:00.
