The Volkswagen Beetle: From Hitler to Hippie to Icon

From the rubble of the bombed out “Strength Through Joy” German factory to worldwide automotive icon, how did the funny little vehicle that was once scorned as having “more faults than a dog has fleas” end up becoming one of the ten most important automobiles of all time?  This visually illustrated talk will focus not on the technical aspects of the Volkswagen but rather on the various personalities that made the car the legend it was to become.  The presenter is Dr. Ed Garten, Vice-President of the Society of Automotive Historians and Dean Emeritus & Professor at The University of Dayton.
