The Collections of the Studebaker National Museum can be traced to the Studebaker Corporation, which continued to collect and display historic vehicles until automobile production ceased in 1966. The 37-piece collection and company archives were given to the City of South Bend later that year. Over the next forty years, the collection had several different homes including the former Studebaker Administration Building, South Bend’s Century Center Convention Center, the former Freeman-Spicer Studebaker dealership, and the current building on “museum campus” in South Bend’s historic West Washington Street neighborhood.
Today, the Studebaker National Museum collection boasts over 120 vehicles, with approximately 85 on display at any one time. The museum presents two major feature exhibits each year, and rotates vehicles on display every six to nine months.
