INTERNSHIPS
An important part of successfully fulfilling the mission of the Museum is to provide foundational experiences for the next generation of Museum professionals. The Museum is seeking internship candidates who wish to gain hands-on experience in the museum or non-profit management fields.
QUALIFICATIONS
Internships are available for any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school program. Candidates will be judged based upon demonstrated interest in the field as well as past experience and education. Candidates must also pass a background check. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, WordPress, and/or Neon CRM are encouraged by not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Workflow will be carefully monitored and assigned by a designated supervisor at the Museum. Projects will be determined through assessment of an intern’s interest as well as the needs of the Museum.
No two internships will be the same; however, upon completion of an internship at the Museum, an intern will have broad knowledge and experience related to the management of Museums and non-profits more generally.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Studebaker National Museum is always looking for dedicated individuals who love to learn and share their knowledge of Studebaker and the industrial history of the South Bend – Mishawaka area. We train our volunteers to lead tours, welcome visitors to the exhibit galleries, provide information about education and public programs, provide “an extra pair of hands” during events, and help out with a variety of special activities.
If you enjoy interacting with the public, are enthusiastic, flexible and reliable, we want you to be a volunteer. No prior knowledge of Studebaker history and vehicles is necessary—just a willingness to learn and share your passion with others.
Volunteer applications are accepted at all times and training sessions are held periodically throughout the year. Volunteers that move into regular slots will be required to pass a background check.
